Throughout its history, Warm Up America! has called on its volunteers to assist in special projects. Whether it is to provide comfort and warmth for Katrina families or knitted caps for infants in underdeveloped countries, Warm Up America's nationwide network of volunteers answered the call.
Members of the Washburn County (Wisconsin) 4-H each contributed knitted sections to an afghan, assembled and donated it in their community.

Now Warm Up America! is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), and once again needs your help. Through its network of more than 250 facilities, RMHC provides a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment. Warm Up America! has already begun providing RMHC houses throughout the United States with afghans.

To fulfill RMHC requests, along with those from numerous community service agencies and humanitarian groups, Warm Up America is reaching out to current and new knitters and crocheters to get involved. For tips on organizing a Warm Up America! group in your community, at work or at school, visit: http://www.warmupamerica.org/how.html
In addition, throughout the Warm Up America web site, there is helpful information about the program, along with free patterns and knitting and crocheting information. All contributions should be sent to Warm Up America! offices at:
2500 Lowell Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
Fully completed afghans are especially appreciated!
